Evan Farrell and I have known each other for most of his young life. I’ve had the privilege of photographing this star athlete on and off ice, the basketball and volleyball courts, and ball diamonds. Even more impressive are Evan’s musical skills – I have fond memories of his live performances during grade school talent nights to Markham Fair and at our local Nineteen on the Park - Lebovic Centre For The Arts. Evan recently wrote and released a new song, Out There Somewhere which has been picked up by SiriusXM.
Here’s a part of the lyrics from the song:
"Whatever we’re out here looking to find, Well it’s alright yeah it can take its time.
Like that dream job, home or girl could be anywhere. It’s all out there somewhere."
I’m beyond excited to share our 2” PVC Standout Mount display option! The 2” thickness of the mounting frame gives added depth and dimension to your art piece. Printed directly on PVC it has the added benefit of being lighter in weight, scratch and dent resistant and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor display - so the original vibrant colours will not fade in the sun or be damaged by moisture.
A view from the High Line, NYC’ displayed on 60” x 40” 2” Standout Mount
The above art piece is displayed in my client’s home. She loved the energy and vibe of this graphic image I had captured while visiting NYC. Her reaction when she received her 60" x 40" wall art - "The picture is sooo awesome!! We tried out different rooms and couldn’t decide until we realized the picture is so beautiful it will look great in any room!!" S. Vohl
The way the colours popped in the above image brought back fond memories from scenes I had captured during a photography workshop in Toronto. The mock filming of a Rockabilly meets Gangster Gals, complete with dry ice, vintage cars and stunning models led to incorporating these images in my 2” Standout Mount Series.
and make sure to use the Live Preview Tool to view my art on your walls! Let me know if you have any questions or custom requests - perhaps you have another size in mind or have your own image you’d like to see printed on the 2” Standout Mount - yes, we can do that too.
Here are some wonderful keepsakes we created of our local families in my home-based studio and on-location.

While enjoying some downtime in Collingwood at the start of 2020, in the midst of a blizzard I ventured out to a local conservation area to capture nature at its best. Amid the howling winds and near white out conditions I was finding the joy once again in my craft. Some of the images I captured that day were representative of the starkness and cold of what I imagined the Arctic looks and feels like - floating ice packs, windswept water, and the lone water fowl. A visit to Hoggs Falls was equally breathtaking and mesmerizing with stunning views of rushing water, ice and snow.
Hoggs Falls, Grey County - breathtaking nature.
I was fortunate to catch the FIS World Snowboarding Races at Blue Mountain. There again I experienced the thrill of capturing live action photography, the colourful racing gear and the antics of the podium placers. Even more captivating and thrilling, was the opportunity to climb the slope and record the racers up close during the National competitions that followed.

Important tips for outdoor winter shooting:
1. Dress appropriately for the weather; dress in layers and comfortable, preferably waterproof gear and footwear. 2. Let others know where you’re heading if you plan to go on your own. Make sure your phone is fully charged.
3. Bring water and snacks.
4. Respect the outdoors and the wildlife. Take your garbage and belongings with you.
5. Let your camera acclimatize to room temperature when you bring it indoors. Leave it in your backpack and don’t remove the lens as this may introduce moisture into the camera body.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my first newsletter! I welcome your feedback and invite you to share it if you know someone who could benefit from the stories and the images! I hope you can get outdoors and play like a kid again!
Till next week, be safe. Cheers, Julie (and Marlowe)
